Jess Levesque
Let’s welcome our neighbour, Jess Levesque.
Hi, Jess! Tell us a bit about yourself.
Hi! I’m Jess. I am a 27-year-old Pembroke resident, wife, and mortgage agent with Indi Mortgage.
I’m someone who cares deeply about others, and I try to approach life with honesty, resilience, and empathy. I value quiet moments, meaningful connections, and stability.
I spend most of my time with my husband Jason, and our dog Dale, exploring the Ottawa Valley and all it has to offer.
What is your weirdest habit or trait?
It depends on who you ask, but if I had to pick one, I’d say being hyper-aware of other people’s moods. I seem to pick up on small changes in tone and energy faster than others do.
What is your least favourite household chore?
Easily the dishes. I feel like a dishwasher would genuinely change my life.
If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Back to Jamaica. My husband and I just visited for the first time in February, and I feel like I met a piece of me that only exists there. Everyone is so welcoming and kind, and I love that you can hardly find a spot on the island that doesn’t have music playing.
If you had to become a breakfast cereal, which one would you choose and why?
Probably Rice Krispies. They’re versatile, dependable, and make a lot of noise, like me.
If Hollywood made a movie based on your life, who would you like to see play you in the film?
Kathy Bates. She keeps it real, and I think she would portray my attitude correctly.
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
I own 10 to 12, but only habitually wear two. I hate shopping for shoes and tend to just go with what is comfortable.
In your opinion, what is the best name for a cat?
I’m a huge fan of ridiculous names for animals. Our cats are named “Heyman” and “Cheese” (fact: he is not orange), but the best-named cat I have ever met was called “Cletus.”
If you had a yacht, what name would you choose for it?
Easy. I’d name her Bertha Big Boat.
What decade do you wish you had experienced? Why?
I would have to say the ’90s. The music was great, and I think that being young before technology took over our lives would have allowed for a lot more fun and freedom.
What do you miss the most about being a kid?
My momma. I’d give anything to go back to being a kid just to soak up some more time with her and enjoy feeling safe for just a little longer.
