Let’s welcome neighbour, Kevin Rabishaw.

Hi, Kevin! Tell us a bit about yourself.

Allow me to introduce myself! I am Bumpy to six grandchildren and to countless other children (of no DNA match) who call me the same.  And that suits me just fine!

My formative years were shaped in Pontiac County, and the majority of my adult life has been spent in the Valley. I married a high school sweetheart, Jody. Yes, that is correct, she was from “a” different high school, not my high school. So I am not sure that constitutes “my high school,” sweetheart or not. We have been together for 44 years, 40 of which have been on this journey called marriage. Out of our beautiful union, we have accumulated a family of 12 out of 2 pregnancies. Our clan sits at 14. I’ll let you work out the math!

I have always desired to be doing something else while doing something else! I enjoy cooking and baking; I play and teach guitar; I dabble in and teach visual art; I love to read, write, and study. Mechanically inclined, I am not! I want to experience as much as I am able within the time frame God has allotted!

Oh, and most others call me Kevin!

What is your least favorite household chore?

Shoveling snow! Does shoveling snow count as a household chore? I say yes! After all 6 months of winter, snowfall after snowfall (a touch of hyperbole here) makes it definitely a chore.

What sound do you hate?

Uncontrollable feedback! Whether from the sound screaming at you from a monitor on stage or you know that person, you know the one I am talking about…

If you could start a whole new career path, what would you be?

I am definitely not a career-minded individual, but if I could start over, I would choose a “career” in the field of creative arts. 

What is your perfect combination of pizza toppings?

Bacon. Mushroom. Anchovies.

Have you ever been told you look like a famous person? Who was it? Do you agree?

A young lady who used to work at Tim Horton’s said I look like that guy from the movie Grown Ups. David Spade. Apparently, I still do, but I am not sure he is aging as well as I am!

What fashion trend would you most like to see return? Why?

Peaky Blinder-style suits of the 1930s. They make classy casual look criminal!

If you could ask your pet two questions, what would you ask them?

How can you be so affectionate and still be such a jerk?

If you were an Olympian, which sport would you compete in?

Most, if not all, Olympic sports are like watching paint dry. So, staying with the theme and my age, I would advocate for a sport that facilitates the senior Olympian athlete and introduce croquet. Pickleball is too much effort!

What decade do you wish you had experienced? Why?

The “Fifties”. The nuclear family was not considered counterculture. Technological advancements. The music!

If you could hang out with any cartoon character, who would you choose and why?

Jessica Rabbit. Have you seen her? And she makes my wife jealous!
